Job summary

Gilroy Healthcare Center is seeking a Dietary Aide for an entry-level role in our culinary services. We provide training and offer opportunities to work closely with the kitchen team in meal preparation, delivery, and patient-focused service.

You will assist with meal setup, ensure food safety and sanitation, and help keep the kitchen and service areas clean. This position supports patient nutrition needs and requires teamwork and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Kitchen Supervisor and/or Cook as requested
• Help with meal preparation in accordance with patient dietary needs
• Assist in serving meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
• Timely setting up of meal service, maintenance of food carts and delivery of meal trays
• Adheres to sanitation and food safety guidelines during meal preparation and clean up
• Keeps work areas clean (sweep/mop floors, sterilize countertops, etc.)
• Wash and clean cooking equipment, utensils, meal service trays, etc.
• Return clean dishes and utensils to the proper storage areas
• Collect and carry out garbage
• Dispose of food and waste per facility regulations
• Prep food supplies for the next meal
• Follow all safety regulations and precautions at all times
