A leading company in health care is seeking a Dining Room Assistant to ensure an enjoyable dining experience for residents. The position involves setting up dining areas, serving meals, assisting with food preparation, and maintaining cleanliness according to health regulations. Applicants must be at least 15 years old, with a friendly and service-oriented attitude, ready to work cooperatively in a team environment.
Job Summary:
Responsible for setting, servicing and cleaning the dining rooms; between meals assists with meal preparation, engage with residents, and assist other team members. Provide essential documentation as required by regulatory agencies.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Checks dining rooms and makes sure all tables, counters and menu items are available and in place for the meal to be served.
Transfers any food items from the kitchen to the dining rooms or resident rooms' that are needed.
Completes final stage of meal preparation in neighborhood kitchen as assigned.
Serve hot and cold foods according to established procedures.
Offers hot and cold beverages to everyone according to menu breakdown, resident preference, and special diets.
Circulates through the dining room responding to the needs of the residents.
Observes resident appetites and food intake as requested. Reports and/or documents to the manager any suggestions or concerns.
Participates with neighborhood team to make sure meal is served efficiently and to the satisfaction of the residents.
Complete daily documentation of recording dishwasher and food temperatures as well as daily meal census.
Participates with neighborhood team to bus dining room tables; resets tables according to dining room procedure.
Follows daily/weekly cleaning assignments to maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen.
Ensuring the kitchen is stocked according to neighborhood needs and refills condiments, salts and peppers, daily.
Return unused portions to the kitchen and notify Executive Chef or Production Supervisor.
Attends meetings in conjunction with job responsibilities.
Is sympathetic to residents and their needs.
Assists other care team members as needed and qualified.
Maintains a positive, friendly and compassionate attitude while in the presence of residents, family members and other Messiah Lifeways staff.
Utilizes safety devices and follows safety precautions. Inspects all pieces of equipment prior to use for structural integrity and communicates any concerns to the manager.
Correctly uses a variety of kitchen equipment for preparation, portioning, delivery and clean-up duties.
Follows emergency procedures and responds rapidly and appropriately to emergencies ensuring the safety of the residents and staff.
Follows proper procedures and promotes safe work practices in order to maintain a safe working environment.
Works cooperatively and productively with others, including residents, families, and other employees; willingness to work under direction and supervision.
Confidentiality regarding resident information must be maintained in strict confidence, as well as other information pertaining to the business of Messiah Lifeways.
Additional duties and tasks as assigned by the manager.
It is the responsibility of all Messiah Lifeways employees to be mindful of safety when performing duties. This is to include performing tasks in a safe manner, as well as being mindful of potential safety issues when traveling throughout the campus. If any unsafe conditions are discovered, this shall be reported to the Office of Safety and Security immediately, and actions shall be taken to reduce the possibility of injury until a permanent solution can be applied.
Communicates any inability to perform a task, as assigned, to the manager.
Actively participates in orientation and training of new team members.
