One year of dietary aide experience is required; training is provided. The role emphasizes safe food handling, timely meal service, and collaborative work with dietitians and cooks.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Dietician / Dietary Management and Cook as requested.
• Help with meal preparation in accordance with residents' dietary needs.
• Assist in serving meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Set up meal service and deliver meal trays and food carts in a timely manner.
• Follow established portion controls.
• Adhere to sanitation and food safety guidelines during meal preparation and cleanup.
• Keep worktables, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers clean.
• Sweep and mop floors and maintain a clean workspace.
• Wash dishes and clean utensils;Return clean dishes to storage.
• Take out garbage and dispose of food per facility regulations.
• Obtain food supplies for the next meal.
• Follow safety regulations and report exposures to supervisor.
• Adhere to facility policies and protect resident confidentiality.

Position Summary:

The primary purpose of your job position is to provide assistance in all food functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established food policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting the Dietician / Dietary Management and Cook as requested
• Helping with meal preparation in accordance with the dietary needs of the residents
• Assisting in serving meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
• Timely setting up of meal service and delivery of meal trays and food carts
• Following the established portion controls recommended
• Adhering to sanitation and food safety guidelines during meal preparation and clean up
• Keeping worktables clean, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, etc.
• Sweeping and mopping floors
• Dishwashing and cleaning of utensils
• Returning clean dishes and utensils to the proper storage areas
• Carrying out garbage
• Disposing of food and waste per facility regulations
• Obtaining food supplies for the next meal
• Following safety regulations and precautions at all times
• Reporting any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately
• Adhering to all facility policies and procedures of the facility
• Maintaining confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information
