Job summary

Franklin General Hospital in Hampton, IA is seeking a Dietary Aide to prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks in a safe, sanitary environment, supporting resident satisfaction and quality care.

You will follow resident diet orders, maintain clean dining areas, and collaborate with the dietary team to ensure timely service and food safety.

No prior experience required, though food service/healthcare exposure is a plus, and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Food service or healthcare experience preferred, not required.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry items.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals, snacks, and beverages according to resident diet orders and food safety standards.
• Take resident meal orders and provide friendly, respectful dining service.
• Ensure meals are accurate, appropriately portioned, and served at the proper temperature.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen, dining area, and work environment.
• Operate dishwashing equipment safely and wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
• Record required food and equipment temperatures.
• Receive, stock, and store food and supplies.
• Assist with special events, cleaning projects, and other department duties as assigned.
• Attend required training and work collaboratively with the dietary team.

Position Summary

This position plays an important role in supporting resident satisfaction and quality care by providing excellent dining service and maintaining a clean food service environment.
