Job summary

Goldwater Care Gibson City is seeking a Food and Nutrition Services Aide to assist with daily meal preparation, serving, and adherence to approved menus and dietary guidelines.

You will support sanitary food handling, perform dishwashing, deliver snacks and meals, and help maintain a clean dining and kitchen area in a healthcare setting. Training is provided, and teamwork with the kitchen and care staff is essential.

Qualifications

• One year dietary experience in a healthcare setting preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow established food policies and procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Review, prepare and serve meals according to planned menus and special diet orders.
• Perform dishwashing and cleaning to keep utensils available for next meals.
• Deliver snacks and meals to designated areas and maintain dining area cleanliness.

The Food and Nutrition Services Aide is responsible for providing assistance in all food functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established food policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review, prepare & serve meals in accordance with planned menus with standardized recipes & special diet orders. Prepare & serve residents nutritional bedtime snacks as well as substitute foods for residents who refuse foods served. Also ensure food, etc., is prepared in accordance with sanitary regulations.
• Perform dishwashing/cleaning procedures assuring that utensils, etc., are readily available for next meal.
• Prepare & deliver snacks, etc., as instructed. Deliver food carts, trays to designated areas. Serve food and drinks in the dining room as instructed. Sweeping & mopping floors in the kitchen/dish room as instructed by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• One (1) year dietary experience in a healthcare facility or other institution is preferred but is not required.
