Job summary

Citadel at Saint Joseph Village is seeking a Dietary Aide to join their team. The aide serves meals to residents and assists with daily dietary department cleaning and setup.

You will work closely with the kitchen to set up trays, carts, and dining areas and support cooks with meal preparation and supplies. Qualifications include English literacy for communication, ability to handle a fast-paced environment, and sanitation proficiency.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must read/understand resident tray card.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to learn to load and operate an industrial dishwasher within one week.
• Ability to follow sanitation processes and maintain cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities

• Serves meals to residents per established portion control.
• Assists with daily cleaning duties in the dietary department.
• Cleans tables, refrigerators, freezers, and related equipment.
• Sweeps and mops floors as directed.
• Transports soiled utensils to the wash area.
• Returns clean utensils to storage areas.
• Washes and cleans utensils as directed.
• Maintains clean, dry work areas free of hazards.
• Sets up meal trays and carts as instructed.
• Assists cooks with meal preparation and sourcing food supplies.
• All other duties as assigned.

Citadel at Saint Joseph Village is seeking a Dietary Aide to join their team! The Dietary Aide is responsible for serving residents’ meals and cleaning routines for the dietary department.

Dietary Aide Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serves food in accordance with established portion control procedures
• Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Cleans tables, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, etc.
• Sweeps and mops floors as directed
• Carries soiled utensils, etc., to wash area
• Returns clean utensils to proper storage areas
• Washes and cleans utensils as directed
• Keeps work areas clean, dry and free of hazardous equipment, supplies, etc.
• Sets up meal trays, food carts, dining room, etc., as instructed
• Assists cook in preparing meals and obtaining food supplies for the following meal
• All other duties as assigned

Dietary Aide Skills and Abilities:

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Must be able to read/understand resident tray card
• Must be able to keep up in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to learn to load and operate an industrial diswasher within one week.
• Ability to follow sanitation process and maintain cleanliness standards

Dietary Aide Education and Experience:

• Experience operating an industrial dishwasher and the sanitation process of the kitchen, preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• Experience in industrial food production preferred.
• Prior experience working in a long-term care facility a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
• Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards. Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
