Job summary

Evercare is seeking a Dietary Aide to support residents with nutritious meals in a collaborative healthcare environment. The role focuses on food prep, meal service, dietary restriction adherence, and kitchen sanitation to ensure safe, appealing meals for residents.

Responsibilities include following dietary orders, maintaining clean dining areas, and coordinating with nurses and dietitians. A high school diploma is preferred, and prior kitchen or healthcare exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous kitchen, dietary, or healthcare experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and resident-focused attitude.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Prepare meals and snacks following established recipes and dietary guidelines.
• Meal Service: Serve meals to residents in dining rooms or resident rooms and monitor presentation and portion control.
• Dietary Restrictions: Follow diabetic, low-sodium, pureed, mechanical soft, and allergy-restricted diets.
• Kitchen Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas; wash dishes and sanitize surfaces.
• Inventory Management: Monitor inventory and notify supervisor when restocking is needed.
• Documentation: Record meal intake and report dietary concerns to staff.
• Communication & Teamwork: Collaborate with nurses, dietitians, and dietary staff; ensure care plans are followed.

Key Responsibilities – Dietary Aide

Food Preparation

• Prepare meals and snacks following established recipes and dietary guidelines

• Assist with chopping ingredients, cooking, and portioning food

• Ensure meals meet dietary requirements and facility standards

Meal Service

• Serve meals to residents in dining rooms or resident rooms

• Ensure proper food presentation, temperature, and portion control

• Follow dietary orders and restrictions accurately for each resident

Dietary Restrictions

• Follow specialized diets including diabetic, low-sodium, pureed, mechanical soft, and allergy-restricted diets

• Ensure accuracy and safety in all meal preparation and service

Kitchen Sanitation

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas

• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment

• Sanitize surfaces and follow infection control procedures

• Store food properly and follow safety regulations

Inventory Management

• Monitor food and supply inventory levels

• Notify supervisor when items need restocking

• Assist with proper storage and rotation of food supplies

Documentation

• Record meal intake and dietary consumption as required

• Report changes in appetite or dietary concerns to appropriate staff

Communication & Teamwork

• Collaborate with nurses, dietitians, and dietary staff

• Ensure residents receive proper nutrition according to care plans

• Communicate resident needs or concerns promptly
