Job summary

Isles of Boynton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dependable, compassionate Dietary Aide to join our dietary team. The role supports meal service and ensures residents receive nutritious meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

This part-time position (11:30 AM – 8:00 PM) offers opportunities in meal preparation, tray assembly, and dining room support, with emphasis on food safety and teamwork in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in nursing home or healthcare food service preferred.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to follow individualized dietary and meal requirements accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and food safety and sanitation.
• Dependable and punctual; able to work as part of a team.
• Compassionate approach when interacting with residents.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, assemble, and set up resident meal trays according to individualized diets and meal tickets.
• Deliver meals accurately, promptly, and courteously.
• Assist with meal service and dining room setup and cleanup.
• Retrieve meal trays and break down trays after meals.
• Assist with basic food preparation and kitchen duties as assigned.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout kitchen, dining, and food service areas.
• Perform trash removal, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, and other cleaning duties.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection control, and facility policies.
• Assist with food preparation and service for special events and resident activities.
• Handle food, dishes, utensils, and dietary equipment properly.
• Maintain dietary supplies and equipment in a clean, safe, and organized manner.
• Work cooperatively with dietary staff, nursing staff, and other departments to meet resident needs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a nursing home, skilled nursing facility, long-term care, healthcare, hospital, restaurant, or food service environment preferred.
• Long-term care or healthcare dietary experience is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to follow individualized dietary and meal requirements accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and sanitation.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Must demonstrate a respectful and compassionate approach when interacting with residents.
