Southbridge Care Homes seeks a Dietary Aide at The Village Seniors Community in Hanover, Ontario. This casual, on-site role supports meal service, food preparation, setup and cleanup under the Food Service Manager.

Responsibilities include safe food handling, serving meals per diet orders, and maintaining the kitchen and dining areas. Required: College Level Food Service Worker Program enrollment/completion and a current Safe Food Handling Certificate, plus strong communication and teamwork.

Reports to: Food Service Manager
The Dietary Aide provides support to the setup, preparation, serving and cleaning associated with all meal services in the Home.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring food is handled in a safe manner, including proper storage and labeling
  • Assisting cooks in basic food preparation
  • Executing proper food service in relation to internal and external guidelines and protocols
  • Serving meals according to Resident diet orders
  • Washing, cleaning and maintaining the kitchen and dining room
Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Mandatory enrollment or completion of a College Level Food Service Worker Program, meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act
  • Possess a current Safe Food Handling Certificate
  • Have a caring heart with a passion for serving others
  • Passion for providing quality care to residents in a long-term care setting
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player
Additional Requirements include:
  • A negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of start date.
  • TB screening documentation as required under the Southbridge Care Homes’ Tuberculosis (TB) Screening Policy
