Spaulding Hospital Cambridge, Inc. is seeking a Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR/NDTR) to assist the Dietitian in providing nutrition services to a broad patient population at our hospital in Cambridge, MA. The role emphasizes accurate assessment of nutritional needs, patient interviews for preferences and allergies, and meticulous record-keeping to support patient care and diet therapy plans.

Qualifications

• Education requirement as stated: High School Diploma or GED or Associate's Degree in Dietetics.
• DTR/NDTR preferred credential.
• Experience as a Dietetic technician with multiple patient populations is preferred (1–2 years).
• Good communication skills, high level of service delivery, attention to detail, and computer proficiency.

Job Summary

Responsible for assisting the Dietitian in the provision of nutrition services to a broad patient population. This includes appropriate meal selections, between-meal nourishments, and special formulas required by each individual patient

Essential Functions

• Assists dietitian in the assessment of nutritional needs by obtaining meal selections.


• Interview patients to identify food preferences and allergies.


• DTRs only: Assesses patient calorie counts, percentage of food consumed by the patient, conducts meal rounds, diet restriction monitoring, etc.


• Maintains pertinent records.

Qualifications

• Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree Dietetics required.
