Job summary

The Pines at Utica, affiliated with National Health Care Associates, seeks a Dietetic Technician to support nutrition teams in menu nutrition analysis and allergen awareness. Responsibilities

• Enter recipes into nutritional analysis software and track recipe entries per checklist.
• Conduct weekly menu reviews and cafe audits to ensure menuing protocols are followed.
• Assist with signage and communication of nutrition data for menu labeling.
• Monitor nutrition program details and report issues to managers as directed.
• Assist in delivering food allergen awareness training and related protocols.
• Support supervising Dietitian with wellness programming and on-site demonstrations.

What You'll Do:

As a Dietetic Technician, you will support the operations and nutrition teams in nutritional analysis related to menus, execution of allergen awareness and wellness programming; provide support for delivering wellness commitments under the direction of a supervising Dietitian; carry out plans related to nutritional programs and strategies planned by the leadership team; and ensure that established protocols are executed consistently, including working with established guidelines, training operational teams, and reporting on compliance with established protocols

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive and track recipes from the wellness and/or culinary team, enter recipes into nutritional analysis software in accordance with the recipe entry checklist, communicate missing information from recipes, accurately complete tracking logs, and communicate progress on recipe entry when applicable
• Conduct weekly menu review and audits of cafes to ensure established menuing protocols are in compliance
• Assist with signage and communication of nutrition data in locations that provide menu labeling
• Assist in routine monitoring of nutrition program details including menu entry, online and in-person communication regarding menu items, communicating identified issues to managers, and reporting as directed
• Assist with delivery of food allergen awareness training
• Assist in routine monitoring of food allergen awareness protocols including descriptive menu labeling and proper guest communication
• Assist the supervising Dietitian in site-specific wellness programming, including on-site demonstrations, community education events, and wellness-focused social media campaigns

What You'll Bring:

Qualifications of a Dietary Technician include:

• Working knowledge of nutrition and personal and/or professional understanding of basic culinary skills
• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related science field is required
• Previous experience in a long-term care setting preferred
• Strong clinical skills and critical thinking abilities
• Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
• Interest in the nutrition and health care needs of the aged and the chronically ill, with the ability to work with both
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
