Job summary

Texas Health Dallas is seeking a Diet Office Representative in Food and Nutrition Services to support patients with meals and menu selections. This PRN role involves strong patient-focused service, accurate tray setup, and adherence to food safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include answering questions, processing requisitions, printing reports, and coordinating with care teams to ensure timely meals and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • 1 year in a food service position or applicable customer service required.
  • FHC - Food Handlers Certificate within 30 days.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette and customer service at point of service and in resolution of complaints/concerns/ questions.
  • Utilizes basic diet therapy training to assist patients in selecting correct menu items as needed.
  • Performs needed office tasks in an appropriate and timely manner. Prints reports, process requisitions and enter menus.
  • Maintains food safety requirements according to HACCP and department standards in the performance of all duties.
  • Maintains clean and orderly work area, ensuring compliance with health department and facility requirements.
  • Serve patient meals, assist with set up and prepare snacks accurately and timely according to procedures.
  • Returns to the patient room within a reasonable period of time to pick up dirty tray and to confirm satisfaction with the patient.
  • Comply with hand hygiene, patient identification, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

Work hours: PRN (As Needed), with rotating weekends.
