RWJBarnabas Health's RWJUH Hamilton Hospital is seeking a Diet Aide for day shifts in the Dietary-Management department. This per-diem, hourly role supports patient meals and food service operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

You will enter patient meal orders, verify diets and allergies, coordinate with staff for accurate delivery, and assist with Meals-on-Wheels tasks. Weekend/holiday availability is required.

Diet Aide

As a Diet Aide, you'll play an important role in creating a positive experience for our patients, visitors, and team members. Your commitment to food service excellence, teamwork, and customer service directly contributes to the exceptional patient experience that defines RWJBarnabas Health.

As a Diet Aide, a typical day might include the following:

• Entering patient non-selected and pre-selected meal orders into the computer system while verifying diet, food allergies, preferences, restrictions


• Communicating with patients, other staff, or visitors to obtain meal orders for delivery


• Communicating with appropriate staff to ensure accurate meal delivery to patients and escalating concerns


• Notifying dietitian if a patient refuses 3 meals


• Assembling menu tickets for Meals-on-Wheels clients


• Preparing and assembling cold meals for Meals-on-Wheels clients


• Communicating between food & nutrition department, the patient, and nursing staff
