Job summary

Asbury Automotive Group is seeking an Automotive Service Technician to repair customer vehicles and help redefine the servicing experience. The role involves routine repairs, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance with some assistance, using multi-point inspections and adhering to manufacturer standards.

The position requires basic tools, strong technical and mechanical skills, and a willingness to participate in ongoing manufacturer training.

Qualifications

• ASE certifications preferred
• Manufacturer certifications heavily preferred
• Previous automotive technician experience required
• Must have basic tools
• Must have great technical and mechanical skills
• Must be a team player and able to work repetitively on complex tasks
• Must be at least eighteen years of age
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must pass pre-employment background and drug test

Responsibilities

• Make accurate use of the multi-point inspection form on each vehicle
• Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order
• Communicate with service advisor when additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time
• Maintain technician proficiency as specified by Asbury standards
• Conduct road test to verify work and diagnose issues as needed
• Perform all levels of diagnosis and repair on vehicles
• Perform all levels of preventive/routine maintenance services
• Utilize manufacturer training as assigned
• Participate in manufacturer training programs to expand knowledge
• Maintain CSI scores at or above company goals
• Complete warranty repair orders and file warranty claims
• Report safety or integrity concerns to management
• Ensure vehicles are returned clean
• Complete required training for regulatory compliance
• Safeguard customer vehicles, property and information
• Maintaining manufacturer certifications preferred
• Previous automotive technician experience required
• Must have basic tools
• Must be a team player and capable of working repetitively on complex tasks
