Job summary

Rush Truck Leasing is seeking a Service Technician to provide technical service to vehicles and equipment, including maintenance, inspections, and repairs. You will read orders, plan procedures, and perform disassembly/assembly with attention to safety and quality, while maintaining customer relationships and documenting work in reports.

The role requires at least 2 years of Class 7 & 8 technician experience, a valid driver license, and a GED or high school diploma.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 2 years’ experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Must possess a current and valid driver license with a driving record meeting insurability guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
• Perform general and detailed repair of all trucks, engines and components.
• Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
• Read job order, observe and listen to vehicle in operation to determine malfunction and plan work procedures.
• Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices on trucks, and make adjustments as needed.
• Tag all warranty parts and returns to warranty clerk.
• Attend training classes and keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase overall customer satisfaction.

Education

High school diploma or GED

2 years’ experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician

Valid driver license
