Job summary

Jgpete in Boise, ID is seeking an experienced general technician to diagnose diesel trucks and perform regular maintenance. You will use mechanical knowledge and hand tools to identify issues, work on transmissions, air brakes, alignments, hydraulics, suspensions, and HVAC systems, and apply dealership experience to a range of heavy equipment.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, safe work practices, and reliable attendance in a non-climate controlled environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2 years’ experience as a general technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Basic computer skills are essential.
• Regular attendance and reliability are required.
• Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform automotive diagnostics on diesel trucks, using mechanical knowledge and hand tools to identify and resolve issues.
• Conduct regular vehicle maintenance tasks including transmissions, air brakes, alignments, hydraulics, suspensions, and HVAC systems.
• Work on a variety of heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, Caterpillar machinery, forklifts, and farm machinery.
• Provide excellent customer service while servicing vehicles with strong communication.
• Handle heavy lifting, tire services, welding, and soldering as needed.
• Operate and maintain industrial equipment to the highest standards.
• Possess a valid driver's license and CDL to operate vehicles including Caterpillar machinery.
• Access schematics via computer to diagnose and repair equipment.
