Job summary

Wisconsin Kenworth in Green Bay is hiring entry level and experienced Diesel Truck Mechanics. The role includes repair, troubleshooting and maintenance of Class 8 trucks. Excellent benefits and a progressive work environment are offered.

1st and 2nd shift options are available. Key duties include diagnosing faults, performing repairs, documenting repair procedures, and ensuring clear communication with shop staff and customers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Formal technical degree, certificate or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to obtain a Valid CDL.
• Ability to read and interpret repair orders, manuals, schematics and technical bulletins.
• Ability to use computer keyboard and Windows basics.
• Ability to work outdoors in variable weather.
• Ability to work 8–10 hour days, including overtime.
• Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds and occasional up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Performs corrective and preventative maintenance on medium and heavy duty vehicles.
• Troubleshoots systems including electrical, drive train, HVAC, brakes, engine, and suspension.
• Writes up repair orders with clear cause and repair procedures.
• Uses diagnostic equipment to detect and isolate faults and interprets test results.
• Reads fault descriptions and determines efficient repair procedures.
• Communicates with Shop Foreman with accurate repair information for the Repair Order.
• Obtains supervisor permission to complete diagnosed repairs or add repairs.
• Communicates with parts to obtain necessary replacement parts.
• Performs road tests to verify repairs and assist in problem isolation.
• Tracks and records hours against the Repair Order.
• Interacts with customers professionally and assists other technicians as needed.
