Job summary

French Ellison Truck Center is seeking entry level and experienced Diesel Truck Mechanics for repair, troubleshooting and maintenance of Class 8 trucks. Candidates must be mechanically inclined and experienced technicians must have 3–5 years experience. Excellent benefits offered.

Ongoing listing—great opportunity to join a progressive dealer group. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing a range of systems, writing clear repair orders, and performing road tests to verify work.

Qualifications

High school diploma required; technical degree preferred.
3–5 years diesel mechanic experience for experienced technicians.
Personal tool inventory required to perform duties.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Ability to obtain a Valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL).
Ability to read and interpret shop repair orders, manuals, and electrical schematics.
Proficiency with computer basics and Windows.
Able to work in outdoor environments and long shifts with overtime.
Physical ability to lift up to 50–100 pounds.

Responsibilities

Performs corrective and preventative maintenance on medium and heavy-duty vehicles.
Troubleshoots electrical, drive train, HVAC, brake, engine, and suspension systems.
Writes up repair orders with causes and procedures used.
Uses diagnostic equipment to detect and isolate faults.
Reads repair orders and communicates with foreman and parts department.
Road test vehicles to verify repairs.
Tracks hours on repair orders and documents procedures.
Interacts with customers professionally.
Assists other technicians as needed.
