Job summary

Thompson Machinery is seeking a Truck Diesel Engine Mechanic to set up, repair, service, diagnose, and install replacement parts on diesel-powered over-the-road truck engines. This role involves working independently or with guidance from service mentors in Thompson Machinery service shops.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of diesel engine experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a basic toolset; CDL may be required. Thompson offers competitive salaries and benefits.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of hands-on diesel engine experience.
• Diesel engine training through accredited technical schools or relevant military experience preferred.
• Must possess a complete set of basic mechanic hand tools.
• CDL may be required for some positions; valid state driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Set up, repair, service, and install replacement parts on diesel-powered over-the-road truck engines.
• Perform diagnostics and preventive maintenance on engines and related systems.
• Read and interpret technical instructions, service and safety manuals, and wiring diagrams.
• Deliver high-quality repair service with a safety-focused, customer-oriented approach.
