Job summary

Quality Carriers, Inc. seeks an energetic Trailer Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on semi-truck trailers and tractors. Work is performed from a service truck, following DOT, federal, and company standards, with maintenance research via manuals and software.

The role involves brake work, tire replacement, electrical troubleshooting, and structural repairs, with safety-first procedures and weekly pay. Training and growth opportunities are available across locations.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience with diesel engines, air, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• 1+ year of experience with tractor and trailer maintenance and DOT rules/regulations.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair tractors and trailers.
• Perform annual 90-day inspections on trailers and equipment.
• Ensure equipment meets FHWA standards.
• Operate a yard hostler to move trailers within the yard and shop.
• Identify parts and supplies as needed.
• Follow OSHA and environmental safety policies and disposal procedures for hazardous waste.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and use welding equipment.
• Document maintenance and labor in maintenance software.
