Job summary

Fleet Repair Solutions in Ono, PA is hiring an experienced Diesel/Tractor Technician to diagnose, service, and repair diesel-powered tractors and heavy-duty vehicles. This role emphasizes engine diagnostics, electrical systems, brakes, and aftertreatment, with a hands-on focus and room to grow.

You will work on Class 7/8 trucks, use diagnostic software, and contribute to preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and documenting repairs.

Qualifications

  • Experience diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel-powered tractors and heavy-duty trucks.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to independently diagnose mechanical issues rather than perform only maintenance.
  • CDL preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related components
  • Troubleshoot engine performance issues using diagnostic software and equipment
  • Perform electrical diagnostics and repair wiring, charging, starting, and lighting systems
  • Diagnose and repair air brake systems
  • Service and repair suspension, steering, and drivetrain components
  • Diagnose and repair emissions and aftertreatment systems, including DPF, DEF, and SCR systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance and DOT-related inspections
  • Identify mechanical problems and determine appropriate repairs
  • Complete engine, component, and system repairs accurately and efficiently
  • Utilize diagnostic tools, technology, and software to manage work orders and document repairs
  • Maintain a safe, organized work environment and follow company safety procedures

We are looking for a hands‑on technician with strong experience diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel-powered tractors and heavy‑duty trucks. This position is heavily focused on diesel engine and tractor repair, including engine diagnostics, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, aftertreatment systems, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Your Role

As a Diesel/Tractor Technician, your primary responsibility will be diagnosing, servicing, and repairing diesel-powered tractors and heavy‑duty commercial vehicles.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related components
  • Troubleshoot engine performance issues using diagnostic software and equipment
  • Perform electrical diagnostics and repair wiring, charging, starting, and lighting systems
  • Diagnose and repair air brake systems
  • Service and repair suspension, steering, and drivetrain components
  • Diagnose and repair emissions and aftertreatment systems, including DPF, DEF, and SCR systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance and DOT-related inspections

Schedule: 1st and 2nd shift available
What You Bring to the Team
  • Previous diesel engine and heavy‑duty tractor repair experience strongly preferred
  • Hands‑on experience diagnosing and repairing Class 7/Class 8 trucks or similar heavy‑duty equipment
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to independently diagnose mechanical issues rather than simply perform basic maintenance
  • Experience with diesel diagnostic software and scan tools preferred
  • CDL preferred, but not required
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality repair standards

We are specifically looking for candidates with diesel and tractor experience. This is not primarily a trailer repair position. Candidates with experience working on diesel engines, tractors, semi‑trucks, heavy‑duty trucks, or similar equipment are strongly encouraged to apply.
