Job summary

Werner Enterprises is seeking a diesel mechanic to diagnose and repair a wide range of systems on diesel tractors, including engine, transmission, axles, brakes, and HVAC. You will use advanced hand tools and a digital meter, document repairs, and advise drivers on technical questions.

You will operate tractors in the shop, maintain a clean workspace, procure parts, and participate in training of less experienced team members. Benefits are provided as part of a comprehensive plan.

Qualifications

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems on diesel tractors.
• Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, electrical systems and related components.
• Document repairs and maintain work orders.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems on diesel tractors.
• Operate tractor and move it within the shop and yard as needed.
• Provide customer service by addressing drivers' technical questions.
• Maintain clean work area and proper tool storage.
• Procure parts from the parts room to complete repairs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned and participate in training of less experienced mechanics.
