Job Overview
TSTC Faculty deliver approved curriculum, content, and assessments in an applied learning environment. Responsibilities include facilitation of activities and discussions to engage a range of learning styles and mentorship of students. Faculty interpret and administer assessments, offer constructive feedback, and integrate technology to enrich educational experiences.
Instructional Delivery
- Prepare and deliver high quality instruction and facilitate student learning.
- Develop appropriate course syllabi and instructional plans.
- Organize daily classes utilizing a variety of creative and innovative techniques.
Instructional Management
- Fulfill assigned schedule.
- Maintain accurate student records.
- Maintain instructional environment with emphasis on safety and equipment security.
- Provide opportunities for student/participant evaluation.
Student Retention and Placement
- Provide student advisement with timely, accurate, and comprehensive information.
- Collaborate with the Office of Student Success to ensure current information on tutoring and retention programs.
Program Recruitment & Promotion
- Participate in related tours and recruitment events.
- Assist in department/program planning for recruitment.
Teamwork & Service
- Demonstrate willingness to be of service, exhibiting pleasant and courteous behavior toward students, parents, employers, media, coworkers, and the general public.
- Maintain flexibility, including availability for evening, weekend, or summer assignments as appropriate.
- Work effectively in a team environment; commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the college.
Other Duties as Assigned
- Teaching & Learning: Deliver high quality instruction, tailor methods to diverse learning styles, and facilitate student learning.
- Mentorship & Coaching: Understand and empathize with student experiences, providing personalized guidance and support.
- Assessment & Feedback: Create and utilize assessments to provide constructive feedback and guide learning; continually evaluate and improve teaching strategies.
- Technology Integration: Effectively use technology to enhance learning experiences.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Certifications or Licenses
- Read and understand wiring diagrams, perform resistance checks, and measure voltage drops.
- Check and adjust fluid levels as needed.
- Perform tire pressure monitoring system service and repairs.
- Repair and rebuild engines.
- Perform steering & suspension repairs, and system diagnosis.
- Service, repair & maintain air and hydraulic brake systems to include ABS.
- Service, maintain, and repair HVAC 134a & 1234yf systems.
- Have 5+ years in diesel industry related experience.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Certifications or Licenses
- Manufacturer's certifications.
- Experience in heavy-duty equipment mechanics repair, troubleshooting, adjusting, overhauling, and maintaining mobile heavy-duty equipment used in construction, transportation, forestry, mining, oil and gas, material handling, landscaping, land clearing, farming, and similar activities.
- Supervisory/management experience.
- Teaching / team leading experience.
- 7+ years truck and/or equipment maintenance experience.
Education and Experience
Verifiable and demonstrated experience required.
Salary
The Target Hiring Range for the position is $68,400.91 - $78,661.05. The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
