Job summary

Anne Arundel Community College is seeking a part-time evening Diesel Technology Instructor for the Arnold/Main Campus. The instructor will deliver classroom and lab instruction, follow the curriculum, and use Canvas as the learning platform.

Applicants should have 5+ years in Diesel Technology, ASE certification, and the ability to manage a classroom. Prior teaching experience is not required, with duties including grading and coordinating with staff.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Diesel Technology or Heavy Duty Truck experience.
• ASE Diesel certification with 2 years of experience.
• Ability to effectively manage a classroom; prior teaching experience not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials needed for instruction, labs, testing, and supplies.
• Relate instruction to course objectives and outcomes.
• Discuss and demonstrate workplace safety and tool safety.
• Communicate effectively with students, faculty and staff.
• Submit grades, attendance, and reports in a timely manner.
• Utilize Canvas to facilitate the course.
• Provide basic lab maintenance and track inventory of equipment and tools.

Salary Range: $50 per hour

Work Mode: This position requires regular in-person presence on campus and at alternative locations, depending on class schedule and other assigned duties.

Position Summary

Part time evening instructor position. Instructor is responsible for classroom and lab instruction in Diesel Technology trade. The instructor will follow the curriculum outline and learning expectations. Content is housed in Canvas (online learning platform). Instructors must have some computer experience, expertise in the trade and the ability to effectively manage a classroom. Prior teaching experience is not required. A desire to share your knowledge of the industry with future skilled trades workers is a must! Instructors will be required to adhere to Anne Arundel Community College's Adjunct Faculty Instructional policies and procedures.
