Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in North Haven, CT. The role offers weekly pay and extensive benefits, including signing and quarterly bonuses, stock discounts, and tuition reimbursement. The candidate will perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles and must obtain CDL within 6 months.

Typical hours are third shift, 6:00 pm–4:30 am, with a Monday–Thursday schedule. PTO from day one, 401(k) match, and paid training are included to support career growth.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable.
• Identifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and performs repairs as required.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of the complaint.
• Complies with safety, DOT, MOT guidelines.
• Performs other support duties as needed to support operations.
