Job summary

Republic Services in Huntsville, AL seeks a Maintenance Technician A to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel trucks and equipment, focusing on chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems.

You will diagnose engines, fuel and air brake systems, HVAC, suspension, and driveline, with on-site and road work, receive training on new technologies, and contribute to safe, reliable service for our drivers.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience as a technician on heavy-duty trucks.
• Valid Driver's License.
• ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1–T8) are a plus but not required.
• CDL Class B or higher is a plus but not required.
• LNG and/or CNG experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain chassis and refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Repair engine, fuel, air brake, and HVAC systems; diagnose diesel fuel systems.
• Diagnose electrical concerns with scan tools.
• Line welding and fabrication.
• On-site and road maintenance; participate in training programs.

**POSITION SUMMARY:** With direct supervision from a Lead Technician, Fleet Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager, a Maintenance Technician A performs repair and maintenance work on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks including, but not limited to, chassis components; refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic, and electrical systems; air brake systems; general engine work; HVAC components; and suspension, drive train and steering systems.
