Job summary

Vanguard Truck Centers in Texas is seeking Diesel Technicians to diagnose, repair, and service diesel trucks and equipment in a fast-growing, safety-conscious shop.

You will collaborate with parts and service teams, maintain accurate repair orders, and participate in manufacturer-sponsored training. High school diploma or vocational training preferred; CDL may be required; tools provided within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred or completion of vocational/technical school.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with 1–2 years experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to obtain CDL.
• Must have base required tools or obtain within 30 days.
• Major tooling provided in house.
• Safety shoes required on day one of employment.
• Background screening is a mandatory prerequisite for employment consideration.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses cause of malfunctions and performs repairs on diesel trucks or equipment.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts and documents work.
• Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or at customer request.
• Road tests vehicles when required or refer to test technician.
• Supervises apprentices and participates in manufacturer-sponsored training.
