Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, is hiring a Diesel Technician Trainee. You will be paid while training to become a Ryder Diesel Mechanic Technician, with a Monday–Friday schedule and rotating Saturdays, 1:00 pm – 9:30 pm on second shift.

No experience required; on-the-job training; benefits include medical, dental, vision after 30 days, PTO from day one, 401(k) match, tool reimbursement up to $1,500, and opportunities to advance in a safety-focused, state-of-the-art shop.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Zero to one year mechanical experience with diesel engines preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older and fluent in English.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills and ability to learn shop systems.

Responsibilities

• Move heavy duty vehicles in the yard and shop, wash, fuel and document activity.
• Perform multi-point inspections and report issues to the shop.
• Maintain fuel island area and perform routine facility tasks.
• Complete Technician Training Development Program requirements.
