Job summary

Ryder is seeking a Diesel Technician Trainee in Edison, New Jersey. You will train on state‑of‑the‑art diagnostics and equipment while earning hourly pay and benefits. No experience required, with on‑the‑job paid training and potential for advancement.

Expect first shift hours, a Monday–Friday schedule with weekends off, and opportunities for tuition reimbursement, PTO, and 401(k) matching as you develop into a skilled Ryder Diesel Mechanic Technician.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Zero to one year mechanical experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older and able to communicate effectively.
• Proficiency in English written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Move heavy duty vehicles into/out of yard, wash bay or service shop.
• Perform multi-point inspection and report issues to the shop.
• Maintain fuel island area and assist with facility tasks.
• Attend Technician Training Development Program modules and assessments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
