Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a Diesel Technician Trainee in Glen Burnie, Maryland. The role offers weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a pathway to a Ryder Diesel Mechanic Technician position in Glen Burnie, MD.

No prior experience is required; on-the-job training provided with 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm second shift and Monday–Friday schedule. The program includes safety-focused training and progression opportunities within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Zero to one year mechanical experience with diesel engines preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Proficiency in English written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Strong technical aptitude with ability to learn to use and maintain equipment and machinery preferred.

Responsibilities

• Move heavy duty vehicles into or out of yard, wash bay, service shop, or delivered to rental shop. Wash and detail vehicles and fuel properly while following safety policies.
• Perform multi-point inspection on inbound units as required by company policies and procedures.
• Maintain fuel island area to Six Sigma standards and perform minor maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Attend and complete Technician Training Development Program trainings and assessments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
