Job summary

First Student is hiring a Diesel Technician for our shop serving Geary County. Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm. You will maintain buses to keep students safe and on time, diagnose issues, perform brake, engine, suspension, and transmission work, and complete work orders in a safety‑minded environment.

Qualifications

• At least 2+ years of diesel or automotive maintenance and repair experience or equivalent technical school education and experience.
• Vehicle diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to participate in ASE certification program; company supports testing and bonuses.

Responsibilities

• Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for our passengers.
• Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle maintenance including brake repairs and inspections.
• Perform preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
• Complete work orders accurately and assist with mobile emergency repairs when needed.
