Job summary

First Student is seeking a Diesel Technician to maintain and repair school buses in our local shop. You will support safety and reliability for student transportation and work a consistent day shift from Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• ,1 year diesel or automotive maintenance/repair experience or equivalent technical school education and experience.
• Valid driver's license required.
• CDL Class B or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment - company paid training.
• Possession of a mechanic's tool set to complete duties.
• Willingness to participate in ASE certification program (training, testing, bonuses).
• Strong computer skills.
• Note: DOT drug testing applies to safety-sensitive position.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair school buses to ensure safety and reliability.
• Diagnose and perform maintenance including brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmissions, clutches.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections and complete work orders.
• Assist with mobile emergency repair services when needed.
