Ziegler CAT in Fort Dodge, IA is hiring a Diesel Technician to service a range of rental Caterpillar equipment including compactors and heavy machinery, as well as agricultural machinery. The role requires a 2-year diesel tech degree or equivalent experience and involves diagnosing, repairing, and documenting work orders.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field; or HS diploma/GED and 2 years of comparable shop experience.
• 2+ years of relevant diesel equipment repair experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, undercarriage, track systems, electrical and fuel systems; Caterpillar experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment including compactors, excavators, loaders, dozers, and other heavy equipment; also agricultural equipment.
• Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Work safely at all times following company policies and standards.
• Collaborate with other technicians on troubleshooting repairs.
• Participate in ongoing training to enhance mechanical skills and product knowledge.
