Job summary

Pel-State Services in Shreveport, LA is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to perform maintenance, repair and troubleshooting on assigned equipment, while maintaining accurate records in our CMMS. This full-time role emphasizes safety, quality repairs per OEM specs and efficient downtime management.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or GED, diesel tech training (2-year preferred), CDL Hazmat or eligibility, and experience with Paccar/Cummins tools and TM T software. Local candidates only.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two-year accredited diesel technical school preferred with at least 1 year mechanic experience or 5 years diesel mechanic experience.
• CDL with Hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Certifications in Brakes, PM, Electrical, HVAC, Fuel, Emissions systems; provide copies for employee file.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety practices and housekeeping standards.
• Ensures repairs meet OEM quality standards.
• Maintain activity records and logs in CMMS.
• Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of equipment and tools.
• Input and export data from CMMS to document work.
• Diagnose, inspect, repair and service vehicle systems and components.
• Repair major assemblies (engine, electrical, HVAC, fuel, emissions, drivetrain, brakes, steering, suspension).
• Test repaired units for proper operation and perform preventive maintenance.
