Penske is seeking an entry-level Diesel Technician/Mechanic III in Shreveport, LA to perform preventative maintenance and routine repairs on a diverse fleet. You’ll learn Penske’s maintenance processes and gain hands-on coaching while contributing to safe vehicle operation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience recommended.
• Ability to solve problems and comfort using tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and outside.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining vehicles to ensure safety for customers.
• Using Penske tools to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance such as tire rotation and lubrication, some electrical/cooling system work on gas/diesel engines.
• Learn new skills with technician training and hands-on coaching from a manager.
• Assist with other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
