Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Madison, WI, offering weekly pay and excellent benefits. You will work the 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm shift, Monday–Friday with weekends off, on heavy duty vehicles using state-of-the-art diagnostics and tools.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, post-secondary technical certifications, legal ability to drive Ryder vehicles, and the ability to obtain CDL within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification preferred.
• Basic tools are required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools when applicable.
• Identifies root causes of failures and performs repairs.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Performs facility maintenance duties.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of the complaint.
• Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
