Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Akron, Ohio is hiring a mid-level diesel technician to maintain and repair heavy-duty vehicles on the second shift. The role offers weekly pay, a strong benefits package, and opportunities for advancement.

You'll work with state-of-the-art diagnostics, receive certification bonuses, sign-on bonuses, and a 3:00 pm–11:30 pm schedule with weekends off. A CDL and post-secondary training are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification is preferred.
• Basic tools are required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer.
• Identifies root cause and performs repairs as required.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
