As a Technician II, you are a respected technician trusted to work independently on major and minor repairs, perform road tests, and complete maintenance tasks. You will also mentor new technicians and continue to grow your skills through training and experience.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and ensure the safety of vehicles for customers
  • Perform preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers efficiently
  • Repair and troubleshoot components like engines, transmissions, and fuel systems
  • Keep your work area clean and safe
  • Utilize Penske’s tools and technologies for diagnostics and repairs
  • Engage in ongoing technician training
  • Assist with other projects as assigned

Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of practical vehicle maintenance experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical certification preferred
  • Experience in diagnosing major components; ASE Certifications preferred
  • Proficient with diagnostic and hand tools
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Teamwork ability
  • Willingness to work in non-climate-controlled environments
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to follow safety and operational guidelines
  • Must meet DOT and Penske safety standards, including drug testing and background checks
  • Willing to travel within the district as needed
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, and bending
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and 100 lbs occasionally
  • Work safely at heights and in all weather conditions
  • Good vision and hearing for safe navigation
