Diesel Technician/Mechanic (B) - 2nd shift

We offer a comprehensive pay range based on skills and capabilities. Waste Pro supports your pursuit of ASE Certification through fee reimbursement, pay increases, and a Master Technician Achievement Bonus. Technicians are eligible for a monthly tool allowance of up to $50.00.

Position Summary

Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, and body components on heavy and light-duty trucks, including gasoline, diesel, and CNG systems. May include welding and fabrication.

Essential Job Functions

• Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs to ensure safe and efficient operation. Complete repairs as per DVIR and repair orders.
• Communicate with managers and drivers about vehicle issues and preventive measures.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and promptly.
• Follow safety policies and maintain a clean work area.
• Use vehicle electronics to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs.
• Conduct safety checks and repairs using Factory Service Manuals.
• Maintain high standards of ethics and dependability.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of suspension, brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems diagnosis and repair.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools and interpreting service manuals.
• Ability to estimate repair times and costs.
• Assist and guide other technicians and helpers.
• CDL Class B preferred within 12 months.

Additional Responsibilities

• Participate in training courses and stay updated on technology used by Waste Pro.
• Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

• Exposure to chemicals and waste.
• Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds, work in extreme temperatures, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Work inside and outside, sometimes in extreme weather conditions.
