Position Summary

Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, electrical, hydraulic, and body components on heavy and light-duty trucks, including gasoline, diesel, and CNG systems. May involve welding and fabrication.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs to ensure safe, efficient operations. Complete repairs as per DVIR and repair orders.
  2. Communicate vehicle issues to managers/drivers and discuss preventive maintenance techniques.
  3. Complete all required paperwork promptly and accurately.
  4. Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  5. Maintain a clean and safe work environment compliant with OSHA standards.
  6. Use vehicle electronic systems to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs.
  7. Conduct safety inspections on vehicles and equipment.
  8. Perform repairs using Factory Service Manuals.
  9. Uphold high standards of ethics and dependability.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of suspension, brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems diagnosis and repair.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and interpreting service manuals.
  • Ability to estimate repair times and materials.
  • Ability to mentor assistant technicians and shop helpers.
  • CDL Class B preferred within 12 months.
Other Responsibilities
  • Participate in company-sponsored training.
  • Stay updated on current technology used by Waste Pro.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, work in extreme temperatures, and perform physically demanding tasks as described. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for disabilities. Work involves exposure to chemicals and waste, and requires the use of personal protective equipment. Work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings with varying weather conditions.
