Qualifications

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs, including adjustments and testing of steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drive trains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, transmissions, and related components, following all relevant federal, state, and local guidelines.
  • Test-drive vehicles post-repair to ensure issues are resolved.
  • Arrange inspections and obtain approval for all major repairs before releasing vehicles from the maintenance facility.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment compliant with all regulations.
  • Identify and report additional maintenance needs during repairs, including those requiring higher qualification technicians.
  • Record time, parts used, and details of repairs or maintenance conducted.
  • Perform road calls and on-the-road repairs as assigned.
  • Report unsafe maintenance conditions or vehicle abuse to the Lead Technician.
Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of medium/heavy truck fleet mechanic repair experience.
  • Strong diagnostic, electrical, and AC skills.
  • Technical knowledge of major vehicle systems and diesel equipment.
  • Experience with fleet maintenance and familiarity with diesel and gasoline systems.
  • Possession of the recommended minimum hand tools for a Diesel Technician.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Valid applicable state license; CDL preferred.
  • ASE Certification is desirable but not required.

Compensation ranges from $30 to $33 per hour. The actual salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Holidays, Wellness, Vacation, and more. The targeted pay range for this role is up to $30 - $33/hr.
