Job Description

Your responsibilities as a Diesel Technician / Mechanic will include, but are not limited to:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical tractor and trailer-related issues using standard testing procedures and computer diagnostic equipment such as JPRO, OEM Diagnostic Software, Multimeters, and Windows.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on our fleet of tractors & trailers.
  • Perform DOT inspections per FMSCA guidelines.
  • Physically capable of performing all job duties, including lifting and/or pulling 75 lbs or more without restriction, standing or lying for extended periods, and reaching equipment.

To become part of the NFI team you:

  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain a Class B license.
  • Possess a technical or advanced degree or 2-3 years of equivalent maintenance experience.
  • Be familiar with troubleshooting equipment repairs and maintenance using diagnostic tools and equipment such as JPRO, OEM Diagnostic Software, Multimeters, and Windows.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills.
  • Show teamwork and customer service skills, including good oral and written communication skills.
  • Undergo on-site evaluation with recommended training.

You should be proficient in:

  • Diesel Engine Systems
  • Preventive Maintenance & Inspection
