NETC Fleet Services in Saco, ME is hiring Diesel Technicians across experience levels. The role involves diagnosing diesel and commercial vehicles, performing repairs, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Diesel/automotive training and/or hands-on experience.
• Understanding of gas and diesel engine systems.
• Familiarity with vehicle electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ability to use diesel diagnostic software and scan tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
• Attention to detail and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose diesel and commercial vehicles using diagnostic equipment and software.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, engine, and drivability issues.
• Repair and replace components including engines, transmissions, steering and braking systems.
• Diagnose, service, and repair air brake systems.
• Develop repair plans after identifying root causes.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine services.
• Complete oil changes, brake inspections, wheel and tire service, alignments, and general maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, parts and serviced vehicles.
• Communicate clearly with technicians, service staff, and customers as needed.
• Keep bay, tools, and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Take ownership of work from diagnosis through repair.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

• Diagnose diesel and commercial vehicles using modern diagnostic equipment and software

We don't want parts changers. We want problem solvers. The warning light is the beginning of the conversation, not the answer. A strong technician asks: What failed? Why did it fail? What else should I check? How do I fix it right? That diagnostic mindset matters here. You'll use scan tools, diagnostic software, technical information, electrical testing, mechanical knowledge, and good old-fashioned experience to find the actual problem - not just throw parts at it.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• High school diploma or GED
• Diesel, automotive, or related mechanical training and/or hands-on experience
• Understanding of gas and diesel engine systems
• Familiarity with vehicle electrical and mechanical systems
• Ability - or willingness to learn - to use diesel diagnostic software and scan tools
• Comfortable working with mechanical and electrical tools
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
