Waste Pro of Florida is hiring a Diesel Technician. Join a team that services thousands of trucks daily, working with industry-leading brands such as Mack, Freightliner, Peterbilt, McNeilus, and Heil. Work on diesel trucks and alternative fuel fleets including CNG, LPG, and Hybrid. Position Summary: Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, body components, and systems related to heavy and light-duty trucks, including gasoline, diesel, and CNG systems. May include welding and fabrication.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Communicate with management and drivers about vehicle issues and preventive maintenance.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Follow safety policies and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Use electronic systems to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs.
  • Conduct safety checks and perform repairs using Factory Service Manuals.
  • Maintain high standards of ethics and dependability.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of suspension, brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems diagnosis and repair.
  • Proficient with diagnostic tools and interpreting service manuals.
  • Ability to estimate repair times and assist other technicians.
  • CDL Class B preferred within 12 months.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Participate in training courses as assigned.
  • Stay updated with current technology used by Waste Pro.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physical tasks repeatedly.
  • Work outdoors and indoors, exposed to extreme weather conditions.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment required.
