Penske is hiring a Diesel Technician/Mechanic III (Entry Level) in Minneapolis. The role involves preventative maintenance, basic diagnostics, and repairs on a diverse fleet, with career growth through Penske’s training programs. The job emphasizes safety, reliability, and hands-on learning from experienced supervisors.

You’ll work with a range of OEM equipment, receive on-the-job coaching, and benefit from a strong training environment designed to advance your skills in vehicle maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• 1–2 years automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
• Ability to solve problems and use tools effectively.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and outdoors.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must follow Penske safety policies and DOT/OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vehicles to ensure safety for customers.
• Use Penske tools to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance such as tire rotations and lubrication on gas/diesel engines.
• Learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and coaching.
• Take on other projects as assigned by supervisor.
