Job summary

Penske is seeking a Technician in Swedesboro, NJ to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on our fleet. You’ll work with a range of equipment and use Penske’s tools to diagnose and complete repairs, ensuring vehicles stay safe and on the road.

Whether starting out of school or with repair experience, you’ll be supported by experienced supervisors and have access to industry-certified training to grow your career.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Ability to solve problems and comfort using tools.
• Excellent customer service skills and communication skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and outside.
• Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Using Penske's tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance like tire rotation and lubrication; some electrical and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engines.
• Learn new skills through Penske's technician training and hands-on coaching.
• Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
