Job summary

Knights Companies Inc in the United States is seeking a dedicated Diesel Technician Level III to join our maintenance team. You will ensure safe, reliable operation of a diverse fleet and mentor Diesel Technicians I and II.

You will diagnose and repair electrical and hydraulic systems, assist with on-site service calls, maintain records, and uphold strict safety standards. Valid DL and ASE-friendly credentials encouraged; CDL preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License required.
• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Auto or diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school preferred; or minimum of 5 years’ experience performing maintenance or mechanical ability.
• ASE Certifications preferred.
• Commercial Driver’s License Class A or B preferred.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if it is operating properly.
• Must provide own hand tools & toolbox.
• Knowledge of handheld scanning tools and the process of diagnosing vehicles.
• Ability to read schematics and familiarity with the process.
• Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Change and repair tires in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
• Perform oil and filter services on a variety of vehicles and equipment.
• Conduct diagnostics and repairs on electrical systems from simple to complex architectures.
• Assess and maintain power and hydraulic systems for safe operation.
• Assist Diesel Technicians I and II and share knowledge.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
• Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards.
• Perform service calls to diagnose and repair off-site trucks and equipment.
• Provide on-site repair services at plant facilities and locations.
• Diagnose and repair drive shafts, air and hydraulic brake systems, and pressurized water systems.
• Collaborate with Area Fleet Manager to sustain workflow.

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Diesel Technician Level III to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a diverse fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment. You will also provide guidance and support to Diesel Technicians I and II, contributing to a collaborative and safety-focused work environment. What You'll Do:

• Change and repair tires in accordance with manufacturer specifications.


• Perform oil and filter services on a variety of vehicles including automobiles, concrete trucks, tractor-trailers, front-end loaders, and other equipment.


• Conduct diagnostics and repairs on electrical systems, ranging from auxiliary components such as lighting and switches to complex 12V and 24V electrical architectures on fleet trucks and heavy machinery.


• Assess and maintain power and hydraulic systems to ensure proper operation and safety standards.


• Assist and provide guidance to Diesel Technicians I and II, supporting team efforts and knowledge sharing.


• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed.


• Adhere to safety protocols and ensure all work is completed in compliance with industry standards and regulations.


• Perform service calls to diagnose and repair off-site trucks and equipment using company service vehicle.


• Provide on-site repair services by traveling to plant facilities and vehicle locations.


• Diagnose and repair universal, slip joints, support bearings on drive shafts, air and hydraulic brake systems and pressurized water systems.


• Work closely with Area Fleet Manager to maintain positive workflow throughout the shop.


• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.


• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.


• Ability to bend or twist body without restriction.


• Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl.


• Ability to work in extreme weather, including but not limited to high heat, low temperature, and high sun environments.
