Job summary

Florida Power & Light Company in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Diesel Technician to ensure safe, reliable vehicles and equipment. You will diagnose faults, perform maintenance, and read manuals/blueprints to support complex repairs, including electrical, mechanical, and hybrid applications.

The role requires at least 3 years of experience, and ASE certifications with one for T4 Brakes or an associated degree/certificate. CDL with Tanker endorsement or within 12 months is required.

Qualifications

• High School Grad/GED required.
• Three Medium Duty/Heavy Duty Truck ASE Certifications required; one for T4 Brakes or related degree/certificate or MOS.

Responsibilities

• Communicates and demonstrates safe working practices.
• Analyzes faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs using engine diagnostic equipment and calibration devices.
• Performs maintenance and repairs to vehicles and equipment.
• Understands operating manuals, blueprints and technical drawings.
• Examines parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges.
• Orders general use parts and ensures proper charging in FA system.
• Communicates with vendors to test products and services.
• Informs customers on vehicle and equipment status.
• Meets attendance and storm duty requirements.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
