Job summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking a Diesel Technician to join our team. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers, delivering efficient service to ensure customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include diagnostic testing, repair planning, safe completion of repairs, and maintaining a clean workplace. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and some holidays is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Graduate of acceptable trade school or manufacturer’s technical school, or previous mechanic experience
• Willingness to expand professional knowledge via education and training programs
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Flexible hours including nights, weekends and some holidays

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers
• Perform diagnostic testing and develop a repair plan and communicate it to the Service Advisor
• Repair malfunctioning parts and other mechanical or electrical equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Recommend TA services with customers as part of inspections
