Job summary

Rush Truck Centers in Georgia is seeking a Diesel Technician to overhaul gas and diesel engines and perform comprehensive repairs on trucks and components. You will read work orders, diagnose issues, and ensure safety standards while delivering quality service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 5 years’ experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• CDL and Medical card as required by FMVSS preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
• Perform general and detailed repair of all trucks, engines and components.
• Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
• Install injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, rod and main bearings, oil pans, clutches, fan hubs, differentials, fifth wheels, brakes, batteries, and transmissions.
• Read job orders, observe and listen to diagnose malfunctions and plan procedures.
• Inspect guards, bolts and safety devices and make adjustments.
• Lubricate moving parts and test drive to verify conformance.
• Attend training and stay current with factory bulletins.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase satisfaction.
